Summary: The Electrical Journeyman is a skilled professional
responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of
electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential
settings. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical
codes, safety regulations, and the ability to work independently or
as part of a team. The Electrical Journeyman will interpret
blueprints, troubleshoot electrical issues, and ensure all work is
completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key
Responsibilities: Installation: Install, maintain, and repair
electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that all
installations are in accordance with the National Electrical Code
(NEC) and local electrical codes. Measure, cut, bend, thread, and
install conduit and electrical conductors. Connect wires to circuit
breakers, transformers, or other components. Troubleshooting &
Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical systems,
apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify
hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to
ensure code compliance. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on
electrical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal
performance. Inspect and test electrical systems to ensure proper
functioning. Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company
safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all
times. Identify and report potential electrical hazards. Blueprint
Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and
wiring diagrams to determine the layouts of electrical systems.
Teamwork & Supervision: Work effectively with other journeymen,
apprentices, and various trades. Provide guidance and training to
apprentices and junior electricians, ensuring their adherence to
safety and quality standards. Material Management: Estimate
material requirements and order necessary supplies. Manage and
organize tools and equipment on job sites. Documentation: Complete
all necessary paperwork, including work orders, inspection reports,
and time sheets, accurately and in a timely manner. Qualifications:
Education & Certification: High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program. Valid
Journeyman Electrician license in [State(s) where work is
performed]. OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred. Experience:
Minimum of [X] years of experience as a licensed Journeyman
Electrician. Proven experience in commercial, industrial, or
residential electrical work (specify relevant experience). Skills:
Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local
electrical codes. Proficient in reading and interpreting
blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Strong
troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical systems.
Ability to use a variety of electrical tools and testing equipment
safely and effectively. Excellent problem-solving and
critical-thinking abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal
skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid
driver's license and acceptable driving record. Physical Demands:

Work Environment: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, at
various job sites, which may include construction sites, industrial
facilities, and commercial buildings. The environment may involve
exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Safety precautions and personal protective equipment are mandatory.
