Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for a K-12 school in New Orleans, LA. This contract opportunity runs through the current school year, with a start date as soon as possible and an end date of May 22, 2026. The role requires an active Louisiana DOE certification and compliance with district-mandated drug screening and fingerprinting. Key Responsibilities: - Provide specialized instructional support to students with diverse learning needs across K-12 grade levels. - Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique requirements. - Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and administration to support student progress. - Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and state regulations. Qualifications: - Active Louisiana DOE Special Education certification is mandatory. - Proven experience working with K-12 populations in a special education setting. - Ability to manage caseload effectively in a dynamic school environment. - Successful completion of required district credentials, including drug screening and fingerprinting. Work Schedule: - Full-time, 35 hours per week. - Monday through Friday aligned with the school calendar. - Daily schedule includes 7 hours of work plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Candidates must be fully certified and ready to work immediately, as the district requires those not undergoing a licensing process. This is a time-sensitive assignment with multiple positions available.
