Job Description Job Description Job Title: Manual Machinist Job Description Join our team as a Manual Machinist, where you will play a crucial role in machining parts for rotating equipment, including pumps, shafts, couplings, rings, cases, turbines, and valves. You will operate manual mills and lathes, primarily working with steel and stainless steel, ensuring precision with tolerances down to .5 1000's of an inch. Responsibilities Operate manual lathes and mills to machine parts for rotating equipment. Work with steel and stainless steel materials. Ensure precision and accuracy within tight tolerances. Utilize horizontal boring mills (HBM) and vertical turning lathes (VTL). Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Perform grinding and drilling tasks as required. Use calipers, micrometres, and other measuring tools to ensure quality. Essential Skills 4 years of experience as a manual machinist. Proficiency in operating manual lathes and mills. Expertise in using horizontal boring mills (HBM) and vertical turning lathes (VTL). Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Skilled in using calipers, micrometres, and micrometers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with grinding and drill press operations. Strong attention to detail and precision. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a climate-controlled indoor shop with a schedule from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and Fridays from 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Enjoy double-time pay for emergencies on weekends and holidays. We offer 8 holidays and 2 floating holidays, along with a 4% match on 401(k) contributions. There is a 10% differential for PM shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenner, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
