Position: Enterprise Applications Manager
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Sr. Director of Enterprise Applications
FLSA: Exempt
SUMMARY
Plans, coordinates, directs, and oversees all activities of the
Systems Analysts and Technical Product Owner (referred to as the
team). Allocates resources and sets delivery schedule to meet the
organizations requirements. Provides technical support and
direction to the team. Responsible for the design, implementation,
and maintenance of solutions to aid the business units with the
operation of our applications. Responsible for creating best
practices to maintain and support new and existing production
applications. Works closely with Business Units regarding
development, analysis and troubleshooting. Works closely with the
Software Engineering Manager and the development team to ensure
that the solutions meet the desired needs. Creates and provides
efficient and resourceful technology solutions by integrating 3rd
party applications or assist with creating new programs in house or
a blend of both. Reviewing product usage and identifying
enhancements to better achieve the intended strategic and
operational goals. Ensures that the goals and objectives of the
team are established and implemented to support the strategic
initiatives of the organization.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Managerial duties include the overall management of the Systems
Analysts and Technical Product Owner (referred to as the team),
consisting of medium sized group (typically 5-10). Responsibilities
include but are not limited to interviewing, selecting, and hiring
team members; scheduling, assigning, training and directing work;
evaluating performance; coaching, counseling, rewarding and
disciplining team members; recommending team members for transfers,
promotions, and terminations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversees all current activities and projects assigned to
subordinates and provides senior management with regular progress
reports and on-demand status updates.
Identifies, analyzes, designs, and maintains cost-effective
application solutions that align with business initiatives and
corporate strategies.
Meets with key stakeholders from all departments to gather,
analyze, and determine data and information requirements in support
of the Data & Analytics roadmap, program development as well as
business-as-usual requests.
Reviewing product usage and identifying enhancements to better
achieve the intended strategic and operational goals
Provides consultative assistance to the software engineering team
as needed to develop technical solutions for complex business
problems to promote operational efficiency, facilitate management
decision making and improve online experience for users and
members.
Ensures that analytics and applications meet business requirements
and systems goals, fulfills end-user requirements, and identifies
and resolves systems issues.
Develops project plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans
related to job functions.
Collaborates with vendors, analysts, designers, and system owners
in the testing of new software programs and applications in order
to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate
recommendations.
Liaise with entire Information Technology team assist with quality
assurance, program logic, and data processing.
Develops and ensures team develops documents, diagrams, workflows,
input/output record layouts and related items for the benefit of
future users.
Helps troubleshoot advanced and more complex concepts in regards to
project and programming support during business and non-business
hours, as required.
Adheres to the change management process for all changes made in a
manner that allows for notification to affected parties and
recovery from the change in the event it is necessary.
Maintains a mid-level degree of knowledge with regard to
programming, technical support, Agile and Scrum, and product
ownership gained through formal experience.
Ensures that the Technical Product Owner performs backlog
refinement and management, sprint planning, and elaboration of
epics and user stories
Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize backlog items (user
stories, epics), and initiatives to ensure that the Scrum team's
work is focused on those backlog items that provide the highest
value and are aligned with product strategy
Ensures that the Technical Product Owner works closely with our
business partners to create and maintain a product backlog
according to business value and ROI
Provides guidance for the team in a fluid environment in order to
help them embrace changes in an agile environment
Participate in all Scrum ceremonies (and serve as the Scrum Master
where applicable) as needed to facilitate quality and speed of
delivery
Manage expectations with 3rd-party vendors (business partners) as
related to product backlog items
Facilitate and engage with users to analyze requirements, recommend
solutions, manage implementation, and test new and existing
application solutions
Continuously looks for new ways of introducing process improvement
in all aspects of the development life cycle. Performance, improved
productivity, efficiencies, and optimization are key
measurements.
Assist in documenting departmental procedures and policy as
applicable to product ownership
Participate in initiatives for continuous process improvements and
follow best practices
Peer code reviews and inspections for the purpose of program and
process optimization and accuracy.
Assists with coordination of all releases for credit union's
products
Works with the IT team, business partners, and other internal team
members to ensure that business, quality, and functional goals are
met with each release and solution delivery
Provides security, integrity and validity to all credit union data
and BI reports.
Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team
members within the Credit Union.
Uses Integrity Coaching skills to routinely and effectively coach
staff to meet personal, departmental, and organizational goals,
including documenting and tracking progress and results.
Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control
(OFAC)
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in training of new team members
Provides back up for team members where needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education:
Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
Experience and Other Requirements:
Three years to five years supervisory or team lead experience.
Combination of three to five years of experience with Symitar
Repgen/PowerOn, Symitar Symform, Symitar Symform PDF, HTML, Java,
JavaScript, or SQL, SQL Tools, ETL, Business Intelligence analytics
with working knowledge of the other.
Intermediate knowledge of secure coding concepts and commonly used
programming concepts, practices and procedures required.
Demonstrated experience of understanding mid-level database,
including proprietary and/or structured or open relational
databases
Experience with agile methodologies and frameworks, including
SCRUM
A moderate degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Problem solving requires analysis of a wide variety of data,
including weighing the desirability and/or profitability of
possible outcomes in a relationship to each other.
Able to execute multiple complex projects within required timelines
and expectations.
Working knowledge and understanding of financial institution
operation and business processes including technology solutions
used in financial institution operations.
Excellent communication/influence skills required, including
reports; presentations; group facilitation skills; ability to
develop professional relationships.
Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple tasks
concurrently, are able to redirect priorities based upon current
workload (Ability to react to current situations).
General knowledge of production cycles and projected results of
those cycles for related applications.
Proven ability to partner effectively across all levels of the
organization and develop positive working relationships.
Demonstrates extensive analytical skills, judgment and
ingenuity.
Must be able to perform all functions independently with minimal
supervision in a reasonable amount of time.
Stays current with emerging technology trends.
Interpersonal Skills:
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required in addition
to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal
contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive
