Student Enrollment Officer is an executive-level position involving
strategic planning, community outreach, family support, and staff
management for the Student Enrollment Services Division.The Chief
Student Enrollment Officer oversees the work of 3 teams:
- Enrollment Family Services
- Early Childhood Education
- K-12 Enrollment SystemsSalary Range$135,000 - $167,300Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees entire Student Enrollment Services Division; leads
strategic planning and implementation across the office's three
teams in collaboration with internal and external
stakeholders.
- Leads and manages the Student Enrollment Services Division by
providing vision, objectives, and expectations of work performance
that support enrollment activities in meeting defined goals.
- Manages the annual NCAP lottery in collaboration with the
Department of Data Systems including the development and review of
application materials, school data, training & timelines, and
communication to families and schools.
- Responsible for forms and processes utilized by schools to
register students. Prepares documentation to assist schools with
enrolling, transferring, and discharging students.
- Perform regular analyses and reports of student data, including
but not limited to enrollment and reports of student demographics
from annual student count.
- Establishes standards of practice for engaging with and
supporting families in the Family Resource Center.
- Develops effective communication plans and outreach strategies
to support early childhood education and K-12 enrollment
application campaigns and events.
- Maintains high quality service by enforcing quality and
customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and
family and stakeholder service problems; identifying trends; and
recommending system improvements.
- Supports the Accountability team with enrollment
violations.
- Collaborates with OPSB leadership, community organizations, and
educational partners to discuss enrollment patterns and school
choice equity issues; participates in efforts to build or enhance
community support of school programs and projects; attends and
participates in community, city, and state-wide meetings as
appropriate.
- Attends School Board meetings and makes presentations to board
members and community stakeholders regarding the state of
enrollment.
- Provides support, training, resources, and enrollment
engagement activities for New Orleans families and students
throughout the year, including weeknights, weekends, and
summer.
- Serves as a member of the Superintendent's leadership cabinet
and attends weekly strategic and operational meetings.
- Represents the district in Early Childhood Education Co-Agency
work, the New Orleans Early Childhood Education Network (NOEEN),
and state Early Childhood Education enrollment support.
- Performs other duties as required.Educational Background
- Master's degree strongly preferred, minimum of a bachelor's
degree in education, public administration, or related field.
- Minimum of ten years of progressive relevant experience or
equivalent experience.Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
- Successfully managed a team to achieve ambitious performance
metrics.
- Demonstrated experience managing systems, programs, and events
with attention to detail and customer service.
- Demonstrated experience developing and codifying systems to
achieve ambitious goals.
- Proven experience in building relationships with families,
school personnel, elected officials, and community
stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of applicable local, state, and federal
educational laws, regulations, policies, and requirements.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate and
interact with diverse groups of stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communications.Work
