Matrix Providers is hiring a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
(CRNA) to join our team of talented professionals who provide
healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their
families at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Employment Status: Full-time
Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with
one-half-hour lunch. On-call hours are from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30
a.m. Monday through Sunday. Call-Back hours - CRNA will be required
to report in person within 30 minutes to the Medical Treatment
Facility during on-call hours if needed.
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) must have and
meet the following:
Degree: Master's degree in nursing.
Education: Graduate from an academic program approved by the
Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA).
Certification:
Certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the American
Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) or the National Board of
Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
(NBCRNA).
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
Advances Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Experience: A minimum of 36 months experience within the last 48
months.
Licensure: Current, complete, active, and unrestricted license to
practice as a registered nurse anesthetist.
Job Summary:
Maintaining cleanliness of anesthesia work areas and equipment
Rotation of stock and removal of supplies nearing expiration
Reviewing and updating department operating instructions
Hospital committee representation
Orientation of personnel
Depending on the experience level of contractor personnel, they may
be asked by the
Medical Director of the anesthesia department to serve in an
advisory/second opinion role to less experienced Health Care
Workers. This will only be for a limited amount of time and agreed
upon by the contractor personnel and Medical Director prior to
assuming this role. In addition, contractors will also perform peer
reviews, cart checks, anesthesia float, and any other additional
duty upon asked.
Attendance at mandatory Professional Staff meetings and
departmental meetings.
Will be required to work with/Clinically supervise Student Nurse
Anesthetists
Manage patient anesthesia experience, perform preoperative
evaluations and preparations, administer monitored anesthesia care,
regional and general anesthesia, monitor and manage patient
reactions to anesthesia and surgery, manage fluid therapy, perform
and manage invasive monitoring, and perform post-operative
evaluations as privileged by the Medical Treatment Facility
Credentials Committee.
Perform a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.
This includes obtaining informed consent from the patient,
requesting consultations and diagnostic studies, and ordering
pre-anesthetic medications.
Develop and implement an anesthetic plan of care.
Perform an assessment immediately before the induction of
anesthesia of the patient. This shall include a review of the
medical record with regard to the completeness, pertinent
laboratory data, time of administration, and dosage of
pre-anesthesia medication, together with an appraisal of any
changes in the patient's condition from that noted on previous
visits. This note shall include any previous anesthetic experiences
and complications noted in the medical record.
Maintain the patient's physiologic homeostasis and correct abnormal
responses to the anesthesia and surgery.
Collect and interpret patient physiological data by selecting,
applying, or inserting noninvasive monitoring modalities.
Manage the patient's airway and pulmonary status.
Manage the patient's emergence and recovery from anesthesia by
maintaining homeostasis, providing relief from pain and anesthesia
side effects, and preventing complications by selecting, obtaining,
ordering, and administrating medications, fluids, or ventilator
support.
Record all pertinent events during the introduction of, maintenance
of, and emergence from anesthesia, including the dosage and
duration of all anesthetic agents, other drugs, intravenous fluids,
and blood or blood components on all patients that have received
anesthesia care.
Record post-anesthetic visits, including at least one note
describing the presence or absence of anesthesia-related
complications of the procedure.
