job monitors and supervises the daily operations and activities of
the lab including, planning, reporting, scheduling, supply
acquisitions and equipment maintenance. Supervises echocardiology
technologists and unit clerk in the echo lab and performs
echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients to diagnose
anatomic and physiologic disorders.To perform this job

equivalent.Preferred - Bachelor's degree in cardiopulmonary
science, business administration, or related field.Work
ExperienceRequired - 3 years of experience in echo
sonography.CertificationsRequired - Registered Diagnostic Medical
Sonographer (RDMS) from American Registry for Diagnostic medical
Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).Basic Life Support
(BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).Knowledge Skills
and Abilities (KSAs)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based
applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability
to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.Job Duties
- Supervises patient scheduling to efficiently meet exam requests
from physicians.
- Acquires satisfactory M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler, and color flow on
adult, pediatric and neonatal patients including stress/echo,
transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and contrast echo
procedures.
- Assists in educating allied health students and cardiology
fellows in echocardiology through class lectures and clinical
skills.
- Provides preliminary interpretation of the echocardiogram
studies performed upon request by staff.
- Performs any new non-invasive procedures which the department
might initiate after training.
- Manages staff schedules and daily assignments to ensure maximum
productivity and quality of imaging.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including
but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to
the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be
performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
