Registered Nurse (RN) | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op Location: New Orleans, LA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,059 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. The unit supports patients for all major surgical services, excluding those requiring critical care services. Nurses will care for patients of all ages in both pre-operative and recovery phases. The facility includes multiple operating rooms, including those for pediatric patients. Candidates should be prepared to manage a variety of surgical and procedural populations. Responsibilities include caring for patients during recovery from anesthesia. The role involves supporting various surgical and procedural specialties. Nurses will utilize specific equipment such as Hoyer lifts and bladder scanners. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically between 2-3 patients per nurse. All candidates must be comfortable working with pediatric patients. Emergency situation expectations will be outlined upon acceptance of the role. Candidates should be familiar with potential assignments that may occur during emergency events. Emergency team assignments and details will be communicated as needed. Nurses must demonstrate proficiency in managing medications and patient assessments. Additional skills in pre-operative care and post-operative recovery are preferred. Successful candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary team supporting patient care. Candidates with travel experience and a diverse skill set will be prioritized.
