The Department of Radiology at the University of South Alabama Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine and USA Health is seeking an innovative and collaborative Division Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology to lead and guide the growth of a dynamic academic IR program serving the vibrant Gulf Coast region. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a comprehensive, system-managed IR service line that spans three hospitals and a growing network of outpatient and specialty centers across coastal Alabama. The Division of Interventional Radiology serves USA Health University Hospital, USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, USA Health Providence Hospital, and the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. Together, the three hospitals are licensed for over 700 beds and include a Level I trauma center. Responsibilities include clinical coverage of the interventional radiology service, instruction of medical students and residents in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and the pursuit of academic interests and research. Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The Division integrates and performs all aspects of IR including spinal augmentation, women’s health, hepatobiliary disease, trauma, dialysis access maintenance, vascular disease, and interventional oncology; and has recently launched a histotripsy program for liver tumors, serving both an academic and regional referral population. ABR Certified and fellowship trained with Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Interventional Radiology. A license to practice medicine in Alabama is required upon hire Experience : 5 years’ experience in Interventional Radiology, at the level of associate or full professor. Demonstrated leadership and academic experience Key Skills : Ability to grow a division from the ground-up with potential to be in charge of as many as (8) physicians.
