team providing specialized cardiac stepdown care in a supportive
environment. This contract position is ideal for an RN experienced
in cardiology nursing who thrives in a fast-paced acute care
setting. Care for patients with complex cardiac conditions,
including Acute Coronary Syndrome, heart failure, and
post-procedural management following cardiac caths and
electrophysiology interventions. Location This role is based in
Thomasville, NC, a charming city known for its rich history and
close-knit community atmosphere. Thomasville offers a blend of
outdoor activities, local shops, and cultural events, making it a
comfortable place to live while working in a nearby medical center
with advanced cardiac services. Responsibilities Provide direct
patient care on a 28-bed Progressive Care Unit focusing on
cardiology patients. Manage and titrate cardiac-related IV drips
such as Argatroban, Dobutamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerine.
Interpret cardiac rhythms and collaborate with interdisciplinary
teams, including hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory
therapists. Monitor telemetry and verify cardiac strips regularly
using Philips monitors and document in Epic EMR. Support patient
safety, conduct hourly rounds, and assist with activities of daily
living alongside CNAs. Engage in orientation and ongoing
departmental training. Qualifications & Experience Licensed RN with
a minimum of 1 year in cardiology stepdown or equivalent
experience. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
(NIHSS). Competence in cardiac rhythm interpretation and
post-procedural cardiac care. Comfortable titrating complex
intravenous drips related to cardiac care. Ability to float within
the cardiology division and other med-surg units as needed.
Schedule & Work Environment Shift options: 06:3019:00 (days) or
18:3007:00 (nights). Weekend rotation every other weekend, no
on-call required. Travelers work approximately 75% of holidays. Up
to 5 days of paid time off available. Family-oriented unit culture
emphasizing teamwork. Free on-site parking, royal blue scrubs
