This job monitors POC specific Performance Improvement /Quality Control activities, exhibits knowledge of and adherence to Institution/Department policies and procedures. Oversees testing personnel competency with documentation, compliance and inspection readiness for CLIA, CAP, JCAHO and any other laboratory accrediting agencies inspecting Point of Care Testing.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Skills to work independently required.
• Skills to work efficiently under pressure and set priorities required.
• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to deal effectively and courteously with patients, nurses, -physicians, management, other healthcare personnel and external contacts.
• Analytical skills necessary in order to perform calculations, review data, and prepare a variety of reports.Job Duties
  • Oversees Point of Care Program.
  • Maintains Inspection Readiness/ Regulatory Agency Compliance.
  • Develops Performance Improvement/Utilization Management Program for POCT.
  • Supports Departments Goals and Objectives.
