Job Description Job Description The Quality Assurance - NDE will
support the space program located in New Orleans, LA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support on all quality areas to include
quality plans, surveillance plans, inspection instructions, first
article inspections, and nonconformance resolutions. Provide
technical reviews for assurance of quality requirements compliance
during hardware production and manufacturing processes. Perform
process surveillance using witnessing/monitoring techniques and
verify test result/documentation of raw materials, components, and
sub-assemblies per approved inspection documents/specification
requirements. Maintain current, company and customer training and
certifications to maintain a quality inspection stamp and meet
stamp warranty expectations. Work with company and customer
personnel to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical
issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product
specification requirements. Perform accurate mechanical, physical,
and visual inspections, monitor and/or perform nondestructive
test/evaluation, perform process surveillance using
witnessing/monitoring techniques and verify test
result/documentation of raw materials, components, and
sub-assemblies per approved inspection documents/specification
requirements. Knowledge of higher-level quality assurance (ISO/AS)
system requirement documents and can interpret and apply QA system
level requirements while performing all quality assurance duties.
May be required to initiate corrective action reports,
document/report inspection results and monitor corrective actions
implementation for effectiveness. Maintain current, company and
customer training and certifications. Specifically, SMA STEP 1 and
NDE Level II certifications. Work as part of an integrated team
with Bastion Technologies and NASA SMA personnel to resolve
surveillance and examination result questions and communicate
technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance. Other
duties as assigned. REQUIRED: This position has been posted at
multiple levels (must meet minimum level indicated). Depending on
the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we

Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
Must have a secret clearance or the ability to obtain one. Must
have a High School or equivalent. Must have 7 years of recent and
related work experience. Candidates must meet NAS-410 and/or
Company Level II requirements and provide documentation of prior
training, experience, and certifications in NDE/NDT/NDI. Candidate
must currently be Level II NDT Certified in Eddy Current Testing
(ET) or Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT). Possess the ability
to read blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
Possess the ability to prepare written documentation of inspection
results using company/customer forms or software. Must be
knowledgeable in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements.
Candidate should be comfortable with adapting to changing
environments (work assignments, customers) quickly in support of
the mission. DESIRED: The ideal candidate will have a familiarity
with NASA Quality Systems and procedures. Knowledge of MAF
manufacturing and/or aerospace related experience. With one or more
of the following certifications: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Penetrant
Testing (PT) Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing
(RT) minimum Level II is desired. Previous experience working with
aerospace flight critical hardware in an ESD/FOD sensitive
environments, witnessing critical quality assurance and assembly
operations of various components and complex assemblies. Mechanical
Inspector with experience utilizing calipers, micrometers, optical
measurement devices and other shop tools. Experience in creating
written reports for inspections/S&MA surveillance assignments.
WORK LOCATION: This position is located onsite; some travel may be
required. This position may require travel to MSFC, SSC, KSC, to
support SLS Programs, and/or Supplier/Vendor locations for Source,
In-Line and/or Government Mandatory Inspections as required.
Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the
position and/or customer needs. BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:
All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check
and some positions require clearance and will require an extensive
background verification/check process. DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING
REQUIRED: All Bastion employees must be able to pass a
pre-employment drug screen and are required to participate in
periodic random drug and alcohol screenings. STANDARD BASTION
REQUIREMENTS: Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite,
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS. All of Bastion's employees must

oriented. Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written
form, with internal and external customers. Able to follow company
programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals,
and objectives. Must be organized with good time management skills
and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust
schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements. Generally, an
office environment, but can involve inside or outside work
depending on the task. Work may involve sitting or standing for
extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and
carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time). Regular attendance in
accordance with an established work schedule is critical. BASTION
