Northeast YMCA as our next Child Care Program Director. Job
Description The Child Care Program Director at the Northeast YMCA
oversees high-quality, licensed child care services, including
before- and after-school programs and summer camps. This role
ensures compliance with state regulations, promotes staff
development, manages budgets, and fosters a safe, inclusive
environment for children and families. The Director plays a vital
role in aligning programs with the YMCAs mission while
strengthening community relationships. Qualifications Associate’s
degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, child
development, social work, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of
experience in child care, including staff supervision and program
management. Florida Director’s Credential required (or must obtain
within 6 months of hire). Current First Aid and CPR certification
(or must obtain within 60 days of hire). Strong knowledge of DCF
licensing standards, child development best practices, and positive
behavior management techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office,
email, and scheduling systems. Excellent skills in leadership,
communication, organization, and problem-solving. Essential
Functions Plan, lead, and evaluate all child care programs,
including Before & After School care, Summer Camp, and licensed
care sites. Develop annual program goals and implement a curriculum
that meets the developmental needs of children. Recruit, train,
supervise, and evaluate child care staff and volunteers to ensure
high-quality service and mission alignment. Ensure full compliance
with YMCA policies, Department of Children and Families (DCF)
licensing regulations, and health/safety protocols. Manage program
budgets, monitor enrollment, track expenses, and oversee fee
collection processes. Maintain accurate records of attendance,
incidents, and staff certifications. Create staff schedules and
assign duties to ensure adequate supervision and programming.
Represent the YMCA in community partnerships, outreach efforts, and
promotional events. Promote child care programs through the
development of flyers, brochures, and digital content. Support
YMCA-wide events like Little Pumpkin’s Jamboree and Corporate Cup
as needed. Foster an inclusive, safe, and engaging environment for
children, families, and staff. Cause-Driven Leadership Competencies

Required Certifications Florida Director’s Credential (must be
current or obtained within 6 months of hire) First Aid
Certification (must be current or obtained within 60 days of hire)
CPR Certification (must be current or obtained within 60 days of
hire) DCF-required training courses for child care providers (as
applicable per licensing regulations)
